What's a Mark l worth?

Checking for a friend. What would a fair sell price be? Original magazine included. Overall good condition, including the barrel.
I sent the serial # (10-08970) off to Ruger for a date of manufacture. I got a quick reply that this Mark l was made in 1969.

Which Mark 1 is it? A target model? A bull barreled one? Barrel length?? Condition? ("Overall good" is subjective.)

I only saw the gun once, for a short while. A price range is all I need. No luck searching on Gunbroker.

300-bucks. In some areas, a little more or a little less. I have a nice shooter-grade T678, and if I offered it locally for $300 it would remain unsold.


There's more than just dollar value. A brand-new equivalent MkIII or MkIV is only 100 to 200 dollars more, but some of us prefer the Standard Auto/MkI/MkII to any MkIII or MkIV. This makes the Standard Auto/MkI/MkII even a better bargain.

The most expensive Mark I A100 I've run across locally/recently was $269 and it is pristine, no wear, walnut grips, original box, receipt, papers, etc.
Without condition or a pic its only a guess between $50 and $300+?

Officially, yes, you are absolutely correct. However, in common parlance, any Ruger .22 auto made before the MkII series is known as a MkI whether it's the correct term or not.

Sorry, but all 4 3/4 inch and the six inch barrels Ruger .22 semi auto that have "fixed" sights are 'standard' models, aka, RST-4 and RST-6, they are NOT Mark I's.....1949 till the Mark II came out in 1982, then, ALL the models, fixed or target, were Mark IIs........even some of the folks at the factory, still to this day do NOT KNOW or understand that...............
just look at the roll markings on the right side of the receiver on the 22 semi autos, it will be marked there, just what the gun is............

Yeah, yeah but you are fighting an uphill against the wind fight against what has become common, if incorrect, terminology. It's like the guys who rant about those who insist on calling magazines "clips". You are right but it won't help.

Yes! People still call refrigerators, frigidaires. Even though frigidaire is a brand name. Once it gets started it's like a wild fire, you can't stop it. Even though there is no such thing as a Mark-I standard auto, people will still call it that. Just grit your teeth and bare it. Another example is an Old Model Vaquero. That term won't go away either.

There is a saying: Give me the strength to fix the things that I can, and ignore the things that I can't fix. And give me the knowledge to know the difference. :lol: :roll: :wink: :shock: :?

I just bought a NIB Standard Auto, RST4, for $275.
From 1978 and came with original packaging including the shipping sleeve. This was a good price. If not a MK1 Target in pristine condition, anywhere between $225 to $350. Without detailed info, difficult to price it.
