 Howdy! What is a fair price to pay for a NM Super Blackhawk receiver? Is it possible to find a receiver, barrel, and cylinder for a 41 mag revolver. I have a project I am working on and need some input. I want to build a Super Blackhawk with a 5 1/2 inch barrel, Hunter grip frame,in 41 mag. I'll put Robar NP3 on the whole gun. I have been looking for an Accusport SS Bisley, 41 mag for a long while with NO luck. Now I'm gonna build one. Thanks in advance for your input. 8) BhK

the easiest and cheapest way to the end you want is to buy a 41 nm blackhawk and get a hunter gripframe from midway along with which ever hammer you want and then put them all together and have the barrel chopped and refinished. i would definitely consider having a weigand combat front sight assembly put on instead of the original front sight along with a bowen target rear. not familiar with NP3, but have a chrome molly maximum cylinder that was cut down and rebored to 45 colt put in a stainless gun. you can not tell that the cylinder was chrome molly and not stainless. good luck.

I believe the second easiest way (first being to find a 41mag to start with) would be to buy a 44mag SBH, grab a hunter grip frame, a story cylinder blank, and a custom barrel or take off barrel, then having a proper smith put it all together for ya. Won't be cheap, but it'll be what you want, and likely a lot faster than looking for either a donor 41mag or all of the take off parts to Frankenstein one together.

Then again, getting 10 different parts from 10 different sources makes for a good story, and sometimes the search is the best part of a project.

Thanks guys. I have a good smith here and He said he is up for the challenge. My friend has a 41 SBH with a cut down barrel and he had it NP3 coated by Robar. The gun looks factory and he loves it! (I do tooo!) The NP3 coating looks like brushed stainless steel. Friendy added custom Ivory grips, and WOW! I will have to Frankenstein it as am on a fixed income. Like Varminterror said, the hunt for parts is part of the fun. Hmmm, why not call my project "The Ghost"? I will post pics when I figger it out. Thanks BhK
