has anyone gotten this done to your mini? I asked at another site and the only ans.i got was that i should have bought a dpms
I've seen guns for sale that say they are a Chief AJ tribal conversion what does this do to the gun and is it worth a hoot?
i have the accuracy sys. adj. gas block on both my mini's and i really like that (along with the usual other stuff--spring kit, recoil buffer)

Back when I used to waste my time going to gun shows back in the '90s, I can remember Chief AJ selling his wares at the big show in Lousiville.

He would have tables of 10/22's and Mark II's that had been parkerized, etc.

I don't remember any Mini's but that could be faulty memory. I don't recall being blown away by anything he offered.

I remember "Chief AJ" getting a certain amount of ink back in the '80s, especially in one particular magazine (but don't remember which one). My impression at the time was that the "AJ deal" was about 20-25% product improvement (or product modification, at any rate) and about 75-80% hype/marketing. :?

The Chief is an interesting guy, full of himself, with a gift of gab a mile long. We ran into him at a show in Ohio a few years back, and he immediately grinned up my wife, who threw it right back at him . . . I believe they parted with mutual respect. He managed to flagrantly flirt with her right in fornt of me without making it seem offensive. I liked the guy.

In his past life he has accomplished some one-off things in body-building and shooting, enough to have a certain amount of deserved fame.

His "Tribal Workshop" guns are essentially as Snake says . . . a certain amount of actual upgrading accompanied by some "interesting" cosmetics and a pile of The Chief's promotion.

I haven't felt the need to actually buy any of his stuff, but that's just me.

JMHO
:)

He was doing some trigger jobs, bedding, and bull barrel conversions at one time, claimed and demonstrated 1MOA or less accuracy. He was way over priced at the time, not sure what he's charging at this time, but I'm sure Accuracy Systems does a better job. Ask for Carl - tell him Ralph with Charlie6.org http://Charlie6.org sent ya. He's a straight shooter and takes pride in his work.

I've met the self proclaimed Chief as well, as indicated he's a nice enough guy. Definitely a character.
