But,
I happened across this Ruger model 8529 today, last-one-clearance priced at $522.

$555 after buying the Governor's lunch.

AR's are like the old 'tater chip' commercial: you can't have just one.
I find them to be a valuable 'hobby item' and the variations are habit forming. Range, hunting, behind the pickup seat, or in the corner of a tractor cab. Long, short, heavy, light, small bore of bigger. Loud and proud or muffled and discreet. There's always room for another. :)

When I stopped thinking of AR’s as “AR’s” and more like I think of “lever actions”, purchasing became so much easier.

Mares Leg = AR Pistol, Marlin 1894 = PCC, Marlin 1895 = 450 Bushmaster, BLR = SFAR

See how simple that was. Go get ya some!

What has "need" to do with it?!? That was a good deal.

I have lost count of the number of black rifles/uppers I have put together.

Like beer and potato chips.....
