Growing-up on the A-Team, I bought my first Mini-14 in 1990 or 91' from a local hunting store for around $350. Just a basic blue with wood. It was the first semi-auto rifle I owned. This was back when Colt AR's where over a $1,000 (IIRC). Since then, I've had countless others come and go throughout the years. I've always seen them as a light and handy fun rifle. I've never shot one for groups at a hundred yards, just closer range target plinking. This is my recent collection I've accumulated. I figured I'd take a family photo. Both the blued ones are from the 80's, and the stainless dates to 1990. I acquired that about 2 weeks ago for $550 with 4 mags. I still need to go shoot it. I find these hard to pass on when I see them locally at a good price.

I have a 181 series with a hogue stock and flash hider. The wooden stock had a lot of cracks ,w ith open sights I can hit a clay pigeon at about 60 yards (Distance to treeline/coyote from back porch) have thought about upgrading but it works well and I still have a few unopened Ruger 20rd mini-14 mags for it. It shoots just fine for my needs. Think I will keep it.

I have had numerous mini 14/30 over the years, my son conned me out of my last one a few years ago,so last week I bought a brand new wood stock blued Ranch rifle, having a lot of fun with it, just put Tech Sight rear mini200 sight on it.
