What was Ruger's Cruelest Joke?

What was the cruelest thing that the Sturm, Ruger firearm company ever did to the shooting fraternity?

1. Was it the Single-Six convertible revolvers with the bore oversized for the .22 lr so we couldn't shoot decent groups?

2. Was it the Mini-14 which has gone through several revisions and still can rarely be made to shoot a decent group?

3. Was it the takedown and reassembly method of the autopistol with all of the possible complexities that can be messed up?

4. Was it the 8-round mags that came with the Ruger SR-1911 that caused many FTF issues?

5. Was it the loose barrels and/or the magazine catch issues on the SR-22 pocket pistol?

Or do you have some other pet peeve(s) ????

I never bought a .22 semi auto because I always heard it's a PIA to take down.
I always had decent groups with my mini 14. Just lucky I guess.
The rest I've never had any experience with.

I think the cruelest thing is coming out with new models and not having any stock pile built up first or the manufacturing capacity to meet demand.

Like what happened with the SR1911 for example, now 3 or 4 years later they can be found in stores but I for one lost interest mean while and never bought one cause they made me wait way to long.

All the proprietary Ruger short mag rounds. A late entry to a failed fad.

Super boomer calibers in single shot DGR rifles.

The "recoil" wafer they use on magnum rifles.

Any one of these should put them in the running for a Remington Award in Ineptitude.

Besides their lack of QC, putting stainless stuff on blued guns that should be blued. It started with the stainless bolts on the MKll (?) series rifles. Then the triggers on their SA's, and now the hammers. Seriously, the hammers? What an eyesore :lol:

He was NOTHING in my opinion and that is all that counts...to me. :lol:

I hold him in less esteem than I do politicians that want to impose on my freedom...only he is worse as he did this purely for money. He was willing to take my money with one hand and provide his proposal for gun control legislation to congress, with the other hand. So, actually, he was and still is something to me...a piece of dung.

This forum is not about him...it is about the guns.

I never said that I did not appreciate some of the guns...the 22 auto and some of the single actions...I don't really care for any of the others. But, my liking those guns does not change what he did and my opinion of him. Hell, I vote republican and I cannot stand the majority of them nor does it change how sorry they are. And, for the record, I did not buy a new Ruger gun from the time of his legislative involvement until after his death.
