What is wrong with people?

I don’t know if it made national news but local police were looking for a young woman that urinated on the potatoes in WalMart. First is was the pseudo celebrity that spat on the donuts, then the ice cream licker, and now this.
This woman turned herself in (probably because WM has a ton of security cameras and they had clear pictures of her). Her lawyer says she’s a young woman with a job and a HS degree that just made a mistake. Huh? Overdrawing you checking account is a mistake. Forgetting to put your laundry in the dryer is a mistake. Forgetting to mail a payment is a mistake. But relieving yourself on a stack of potatoes intended for people to eat is wayyyy above a mistake. What the $#£@ is wrong with people?
Let alone the attorney “blowing it off” like an overdue library book.

I can’t imagine what the consequences for that type of behavior would have been, even in the 1960s. I’m guessing it would have resulted in a well deserved ass-whoopin, and/or a stay in a fairly unpleasant jail cell.To society’s detriment, there are too many people wandering around who have never suffered the consequences of any idiotic decision they’ve ever made. Some become “famous” by posting their exploits on youtube or other social media.

I’m glad my grandparents, who lived through the depression, aren’t alive to witness what’s happened to us.

I think a 90 day sentence of cleaning rest rooms at that Walmart would be a great punishment for her. I'd think those things can get pretty disgusting at times. If she doesn't do a good job on a given day another day is added to her sentence. I doubt very many judges would have the testicles to give her a sentence like that.

In the '60's she would likely have faced a civil commitment and a stay in an insane asylum for lewd and outrageous behavior. She should have been regarded as mentally disturbed by the State. Just my opinion.

'Deviancy'. Thank you, Blackhawknj! That word was escaping me in my previous post.

I suspect this behavior - as is the case with most bizarre behavior these days - results from past and/or current substance abuse. We have some serious issues to address in this arena. Peeing on the potato pile doesn't even scratch the surface.
