As I stated in the New Members introduction forum I'm going to buy a Ruger single action revolver here in Germany.
My choice is narrowed to a 45 Colt or 44 Magnum revolver. It should be a used one.
The only exception are two new Ruger NM Blackhawk complete with plastic case. A gun dealer has wiped off the shelf and these to have to go for a very reasonable price of 390 Euros each. One has a 5.5 inch barrel, the other one 4 5/8". Both are chambered for 45 Colt.
Another dealer has a used and card box cased stainless NM BH in 45 Colt with a 4 5/8" barrel. This gun also has the original wood stocks as well as a real stag grip. Price is: 450 Euros
There are some other nice guns. One is a Ruger Super Blackhawk with a 7.5" barrel for 150 Euros. Then there are a Ruger Bisley 45 Colt for 200 Euros and Ruger NM Blackhawk with 7.5" barrel for 280 Euros, also in 45 Colt caliber.
So, what to buy now???
I still have some doubts about the aluminium alloy gripframe regularly coming with the blued Ruger NM BHs. Will there be any problems with the durability over the years with medium to heavy 45 Colt loads?
