What forums do you go to for general conversation?

This has been my primary go to forum for many years now. I log on to the internet, check my email, maybe go to Facebook to see what my Left wing relatives are talking about, and then log on here. I also go to motorcycleforum.com , illinoiscarry.com and some others occasionally. I used to check our the S&W forum but they banned me and I never thought twice about it afterwards. I also check out some specific Honda Goldwing forums since I ride a Goldwing, but certainly not daily like I check on this forum. What forums do you go to just for general conversation, political griping, maybe some humor?

I used to go to Calguns but they banned me. For cyber beating the Bolshevik U/I's to hard.

As you would expect they have herds of them over there- say they like guns but vote Prog/Commie New Democrat. Duh..

And the owner appears to be a never Trumper rino fellow. Who leans PC.

However-

The site is vast and has a lot of good info. And photos.

Might check it out Mr Vito just don't beat the bolshies to hard lol

I frequent two guitar forums for steel guitar.
The Steel Guitar Forum and The Reso Hangout.
Very relaxed atmosphere with a lot of humor because, well....... musicians are basically nuts.
I also learn a lot from them.

issue I have is most forums have the same people. so no matter how hard I try to find new blood, both good and bad memories follow me around.
if someone doesn't like you where you came from, and see you on a new site, they call ahead and tell the mods or owners and out of nowhere you get banned for something you haven't even done yet....or never did because someone just doesn't want you around. this is one of the reasons I wont have anything to do with the 'broken'gun green website that sells guns.
this site is heavy into aviation, so aviation is what I look for here.
general info is everywhere and it tends to be all the same stuff. zzzzz.
only places I can really get good info is on sites with specific interests like a parker forum, military surplus forum, Winchester forum, etc...
sadly, I only have 1 ruger, so ruger discussions are limited here for me.
if anyone wants a list of stay away nasty backstabbing websites with rotten forums (that haven't been shut down yet and should be) just pm me.

Very sad that you only have one Ruger! I've been thinning my firearm "collection" and I am now down to 8 handguns, four of which are Ruger. But the firearms sub forums are where I spend the least time. Mostly I am in the Lounge, Political and Concealed Carry areas.

Et tu, Vito? I also got banned for life over at Smith & Wesson forum a few years ago. Sniff, is this going to go on my record? I like this forum because it`s the least politically correct. Not that I insult on purpose, but I don't believe in "sucking" by remaining quiet and politically obedient like is required on the big ape`s forum.

This forum, the Ruger Owners & Collectors Society forum, and Maryland Shooters. I used to also go to a 1911 Forum but I was given a 'time out' for posting a question in the incorrect section. I never went back. I have looooong list of 'bookmarks' but these three are the primary 'go to' sites.

Here and the small S&W forum. My husband is a member of the large Smith forum and has been for 13 or 14 years. We both get not just general conversations, but a bit of everything under the sun and enjoy all of it!

This is the only forum I speak on. If I wander somewhere else usually I'm just looking for specific information.

I usually come here each day and have done so for a long time although I contribute rarely.

I a Ruger fan and have had at least one nearby or on me since about 1974.

I have been a member of other sites like the S&W forum but eventually drifted away from many because of the infiltration by liberals. Note that the S&W forum is not necessarily loaded with liberals but it is not the most embracing forum available.

The contributors here seem to be a likeable bunch and it does not appear that anyone attempts to dominate. That makes for good conversation.

Again, my contributions are minimal but it is a rare day that I am not here.

This IS my ALTERNATE forum. I mostly come here to lurk every other day or so because it is an interesting group. I'm on Marlin Owners Forum 3-4 times a day, and am a little more talkative there. I do have a couple of Rugers that I really enjoy including the TOKLAT in 45LC/454 Casull. I used to be old and cranky, but experienced concurrently- cardiac arrest, sepsis, and e coli, and 3 months in ICU in 2016, so now I'm just old and happy to be alive.

I have visited several other forums over the years. I'm only a member of 4 total. But,,, this place,,, I've never gotten tired of,,,never felt it was a place that wasn't the best. It's my main, got to,,, daily visit. (Unless I'm not on the computer at all.)

I was a member of the "other" Ruger Forum till they changed ownership, every new log-in code they send me doesn't work. I also visit Culver's Shooting Page and Smith-WessonForum.com. I visit Gunboards regularly-in my secret identity.

I had the same problem. Finally deleted the bookmark. Also deleted the S&W bookmark. I got a congratulations you have won notice everytime I logged in. This is/was the only site I had this problem. I do enjoy the Oakie Corral on the Glock website for general discussions.

I never liked the other ruger place. the mods and admin were cut throat.
once the website stopped allowing me to log in, I too deleted the bookmark.

Do you play the Steel?

The best forum I have long ago quit but still monitor often has excellent observations, tips, and witticisms. BUT it is heavily salted with ad hominem attacks and viral name-calling, calls to racial violence. religious intolerance among Christian sects, tasteless sophomoric blather, and pack behavior from the amen choir. There is no adult supervision to speak of and you can pick up more viruses there than in most hospitals.

Here's a tip of the hat for our monitors who keep the dark side of our natures from intruding.

Yes Virginia, total freedom of speech at play has its downsides.

I go to archery talk , nyhunting, handgun hunter magazine , the firing line, couple atv and truck forums . A really good one that has a tons of traffic and coveres every thing under the sun is the 24 hour campfire forums and they are a conservative sight no doubt..

I can say this forum has cause me to buy more guns than anything. All the pictures in the gallery....beautiful custom grips from exotic wood etc.... This is a very nice polite place.

I’ve also started reading a few BBQ forums from time to time. Mostly for information on how to improve my bbq skills. There is one and some threads are in the hundreds of pages. Lots of input there.

"Gene's Cafe, a couple of miles from here. Real people, face-to-face, real conversation."

I'll bet few at Gene's Cafe are young or they'd all be quietly staring into their phones.

It's an addiction and sadly getting worse.

A few youngsters will try it -- and be mocked mercilessly until they put the phone away or leave. Those who choose the first option soon learn they can actually enjoy themselves, learn a few things, and make real friends (NOT "Friends") in conversation.
