Today is day one of the Autism Charity Match at my range. It's hard to believe we started this 9 years ago. Today,,, the staff & a few others are shooting. Tomorrow, the main bunch. We have morning squads & afternoon squads.
We have one stage that has a LOT of moving targets. Brian, (staff) designed & built it. I haven't even seen it all in action at once yet.

I want to shout out a special "Thank You" to Zane at Lone Star Custom Grips. For the last several years, he has donated 2 sets of his BEAUTIFUL 1911 grips to our event. This year, once again, we have 2 sets as prizes. I have overheard some comments on how nice they are & how some covet them. One of my staff, (Herb) won a set a while back & he says they are simply stunning on one of his guns.
Thank you Zane.

I'll post an after action report sunday if I'm not too tired.

Today,,, we shot the match with some of the people. Tomorrow morning,, some of the staff that is working the afternoon squads are shooting & vs-a-versa.
But, as of right now, I'm first in division, and 5th overall! (That will change.) I had a few bobbles, and we had issues to resolve on the safety of how one stage was set up. But, it's shaping up to be another great match!

Well, we had 78 registered to shoot. Down just a few from last year. BUT,,,, still a great match. It ran smoothly, no glitches, no DQ's, & we actually finished a few hours earlier than I expected.
The numbers will have to be finalized,,, but we are looking at around $3500-$4000 for the charity.

The guy who won the gun prize was HAPPY! It was a Ruger 10/22 take down.
He promptly refused my offer of a sale! :D

All in all, it was another great match, and we were blessed!

Great to hear you were successful again this year with your charity match. Much admiration for what you do from here. :D

Will we see some pictures? :D

Sounds like it was a very fun time for all of the participants. What no pictures?! Sacrilege! Most important thing is the charity and it sounds like that worked out very well.
