I've enjoyed good luck with vehicles for many, many years. My (2) previous trucks,, both never had any major mechanical issues. Both went over 300,000 miles with just minor stuff & good regular maintenance.
Well, my 2021 Chevy Silverado with just 88,000 miles on it,,, and OF COURSE,, out of warranty,,, had the transmission puke out on me yesterday. On my way to get my helper,, I had stopped, put in neutral,, then it just would not engage "Drive."
A few phone calls, a tow truck on the way, and my helper went & got his truck for us to work yesterday.
I'm awaiting the "good news" now. Possibly a $4500 bill.
My helper asked me; "When was the last time you checked the fluid?" I quickly told him that my truck did NOT have a transmission dip-stick to allow me to check it. A "closed" system.
I guess it was my turn to finally have a major mechanical issue with a vehicle.
