The most exhaustive test so far . . .

Verrrry interesting! WD-40 beats a lot of "gun-specific" products.

;)

Thanks for bringing attention to this excellent test in Shotgun World and its analysis to the people on this forum. I tried to do the same thing on Rugerforum.net where they had a thread going about Ballistol. However, they just criticized it and refused to even consider it, even though none that responded took the time to look it over. I kept trying but I don't think anyone ever bothered so I gave up. The guy that did this test really did an excellent and scientifically based analysis and at his own expense! Like the adage goes, "There is none so blind as those who will not see".

You can see a snap shot of my attempts on the other Ruger forum below. I don't think I will be visiting them much anymore. As Rodney Dangerfield used to say, "Tough crowd-tough crowd".

That's where I found that article.

Everybody has their own opinion, and the "Grandpa did it this way" approach is valid in the gun world whether it satisfies all the facts or not.

Personally, I HAVE to finish up with Hoppe's #9 for the aroma if nothing else. My wife says I should use it for after-shave.

I use Kroil. And if I need a copper remover I use K-12 products.
And either 3 in 1 or hoppes on internal parts & my wipe down rag.
