Santa brought this for the wife. She asked for a pink gun for Christmas

Santa has a sense of humor.

I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with a pink gun for a lady. I firmly believe we need MORE ladies into shooting. So, if making them "prettier" is what helps, then by golly we need to make them pretty. And, remember this; Once they get a gun, they will want to accessorize them. They spend more on guns, and begin to understand why WE spend more on guns.
Most guys would love to have their spouse enjoying firearms vs having to explain another purchase.
Tell your wife; "Cool Christmas present!"

One of the reasons I got my wife into shooting was so she could understand why I spend so much time and money on them. She has now become an avid shooter. She told she wouldn't want a pink gun, but wouldn't mind one in red, or blue or whatever. There was a recent episode on Sons of Guns where the daughter develops a woman specific rifle. White, adjustable stock, forward grip etc. Brilliant. Pink gun... go for it!

Just in case you didn't know, Ruger makes other pink stuff. She has a pile of BX-25's, I'm afraid they would all be pink as well. If Ruger makes a pink LCR, She will own one. It's a brave new world, my friends.

On the practical side---

I have a single-barrel shotgun that my late father-in-law found in the woods. He cleaned off some rust, refinished the stock, and used it for 30+ years. Had it been pink, it probably wouldn't have been lost in the first place.

Contender, I couldn't agree with you more, I went to the LGS yesterday and bought my GF a Super Single Six just so she could get into doing something I like to do, her idea of a good weekend is sitting around all day watching all of the soap operas and other BS cable shows that she watches, I need to do something to get her @#$ off the couch so I'm hoping the SSS works, she took a liking to my High Powered Air Rifle (Benjamin Marauder .22 PCP) so I'm looking forward to her shooting it for the first time, I'll let you know how it turns out. I will be the first one to say that many of us prefer the traditional "blue steel & wood."
However, as times change, so do people.
We NEED more ladies into the shooting sports if we are to survive. The anti's use the "divide us" mentaltity to try & win their agenda. If we get more ladies into shooting, they will learn to appreciate it, and fight to keep their rights.
I just taught another NRA Women On Target clinic this past saturday. We showed off a few pink guns & items. We talked about accessorizing and getting something THEY would like.
Not all ladies liked the pink, but most understood it.
Not all men like just blued steel & wood.
It's all about choices. So, if we give the ladies what they want, then we will win them over to our side, NOT the antis. One of our ladies was a "repeat" clinic attendee. Her friends now refer to her as "little annie oakley." She is however discussing a totally private clinic from her work place with just ladies who have heard her talking about shooting.
Remember, if momma isn't happy, nobody is happy.
Get the ladies shooting!
(Besides it's easier to explain shooting related expenses after she wants to go shooting.)

My girlfriend got a pink lam 10/22 for Valentine's Day. She enjoys shooting, but this was her first "her very own" gun. She was HAPPY!

No different than a camo, if the shooter is happy, all is well.

Whatever it takes to get the females into the shooting sports is fine with me. Most importantly hopefully it will add another Pro Second Amendment voter to our ranks.

Ouch....I call my P95 "The little fat girl".....now I know how she'd look in a tutu....

If she likes it and digs it and it doesn't violate any rules for the use she's using it in, it's awesome.

Not my favorite color for a gun stock but basically as long as people are competent and happy with their firearms, more to the good.

The *only* thing I worry about with the brightly colored stocks is making the gun look too much like a toy. If the owner(s) are responsible it shouldn't ever be a problem.
