I was discussing on another forum ,but I'm too computer illiterate to post pics there . So I posted here , told the overlapping members to look here .

Short version- Daughter's headlight fell OUT , entirely . New ' complete" headlight assy finally arrived ,but complete isn't , waiting on a bracket .

There is a lever that is turned = Pushed up/down under the hood on each side that holds the headlight assembly in place
If that lever gets thrown the headlight will just fall out when the brakes are used & it will hang from the wires
Don't ask how I know about this but in the early 80s was a VW Tech
When these Mexican made VWs came around my Wife had one + it was a convertible

Someone had that light out before while running that red wire for the stereo or amp
