Didn’t make it to the gathering so I reached out to him, and the following is his reply with his permission: “Just recovering. Had cataract surgery 4 days later had rotator cuff surgery. Then I had a saddle pulmonary embolism. I'm still around just humbled. That 2 week stretch of gout during all that didn't help. Been blessed for 60 years. Just my turn. Doctors are pleased with my rehab. Still got a chest full of clots.“

I had the cataracts done and the only real problem with that is all the drops, and
drops, and drops. The Gout on the other hand, at least for me, was not drinking
enough water (obviously a medical condition, but more water is the easiest fix).
It takes about four to six months of the increased water consumption for it to really
do its thing, but I have been almost two years with zero, zip, nada, NO gout pain.

Thank you Gramps for reaching out to me. It means a lot that you did that. I didn't post my problems cause so many others have so much more problems and pain than I do. I'm really a private type of gun nut and keep to myself.
Yes I have/had serious problems but I will survive as long as HE lets me. Doc said I dodged a bullet as many don't survive. I told him GOD was responsible for my still being here.
8 weeks after rotator cuff surgery, DVT and saddle pulmonary embolism I have gone back to light duty.
I take care of my 83 year old mom and her 16 acres, my best pal who is 82 and his 46 acers a and live stock, well as work. I'm taking it easy as best as I can but chores have to be done, I have no one else to replace me.
I want to thank each and every one that responded just how much I thank you!
Very few friends (I don't have many) even called to check on me. Dude I work with didn't call or check on me for 8 weeks, didn't ask till I went back.
Seems folks here are kinder than those around me and I respect that and have come to the conclusion that friends are not necessary the ones around you.
I respect and love you guys.
Best group of folks I've ever know mostly without meeting.

volshooter,,, I've often called this place "the Ruger family" for good reason. We do care about one another. Rugers are our interests,, yet,, I've made some of the finest friends a guy could ask for,, and met several of them. PLEASE do not hesitate to share your issues,, that way,, those of us who Believe,, can add you to our prayer list. HE listens,, and as you say,, HE decides things. If a lot of us talk to him,, then maybe he will listen a little harder,,,!
