I decided to put up an auto-close screen (magnet type), for the front door.
I figured that twenty five dollars was worth a try. No big deal.
I read the instructions (GASP!) and thought that, since I had two rolls
of Velcro, I could experiment for myself, and then fall back on their way,
if I had any problems.
After re-reading the instructions ( ) put up a half dozen blocks of the
"hook" side and hung the screen. Works quite well. Now I'll go back and
fill in between the blocks with their "velcro", so the bugs can't get in,
around the edges.
I decided that, while I had enough Velcro for my next project (what ever
that may be), I would be out of it before I could do a third one. Went
looking on the interweb to get some more while there is no rush.
HO-LEE HORSE FEATHERS Batman!
Velcro is still available (for way more than I paid for mine), completely
re-packaged, HARD to find in the two inch wide that I have, and fully
intermingled with every type of rip-off imitation you can think of! Price
runs from $4 for six inches (super whiz bang special cuts) to $50 for a
ten foot roll, to $20 for a fifteen foot roll (remember I'm going for two inch
wide). I guess I have too good a memory on some things.
Something tells me that my decision twenty-some years ago to buy a roll
of white and a roll of black was a lot more productive than I would have
imagined. . . . . . Sometimes you get (got?) lucky. 8)
