Blackhawk
Why does a fixed sights Vaquero cost 20%+ more than an adjustable sights Blackhawk?
Market demand vs available supply.
Sold/gave my 1958 Blackhawk to my brother-in-law and bought an older (bigger) Vaquero Bisley in .45 Colt. It's much more fun to hold and shoot. I'd had the old Blackhawk since 1972 and used less than one box of .357 shells. It's a fluffy kittens cat with Plus P .38 special. Too loud for me. Love that Bisley Vaquero.I bought a used Blackhawk in .357 for $450. Shoots like a laser. I bought a used Vaquero in .45 Colt for $650, same condition, same year. The Vaquero’s action is smoother out of the box, the trigger breaks cleaner, and it balances better in my hand. But is it $200 better? Not for hunting or target shooting. For fun? For the cool factor? Yeah, honestly, it is.
