I found a GS-33PS gun with original box in good-very good condition a pawn shop has for $750+tax/transfer. The matte finish has a couple shiny spots at the muzzle from holster wear but otherwise looks great. Grips are rubber Pachs with Ruger
medallions. Seems like a good deal to me.

I've read there were only 3000 made. I'll get a Ruger letter of authenticity to see it's an overrun or shipped to USPS. It's about 300 units later than the sn# range I saw somewhere online. It'll be a shooter in any case. The Pachs are well worn and been carried so won't be a safe queen. I want to compare the matte finish on the GS-33 PS to my GS-83 nycpd dao 38spl which is also matte which is unusual(I think). I've always wondered if my matte GS-83 was a result of using parts(frame & barrel) that were left over from the USPS contract run. Bill was known for that kind of thing. The GS-83(w/star) was sold as possibly unfired and looked unfired when I received it so I doubt anyone would've had it bead blasted. It eventually shipped to Davidson's in Arizona where it was bought by a man who stuck it in a drawer and never shot it. I bought it from his nephew who told me his uncle "wasn't a gun guy" so wouldn't have altered the guns finish.

I have this one valued at $850, but certainly wouldn't sell it for that, so clearly that value is low, at least for me.

Photos from the add. Blemishes don't show here. SN# is about 300 beyond what I read online the range was. (up to 162-23446) Mine's about 300 units later.
