Ruger 5 shot, 5" barrel .44 Special, less than 50 rounds through it. It is either a Lipsey or Talo edition I dont remember which. What do you think its worth.

If I owned it,, and was selling, I'd take an offer of $300 as an insult. In today's market,, you mention $700,, and that would be a fair value.

I wouldn't make an offer on it because I don't want it. OP asked what it's worth. It's worth a different amount to everyone. Worth is based on what people will pay.

Did not put it up for offers, just to be clear. I agree, with your statement though.
I generally do not put a $premium on distributor special runs BUT that one has a LOT going for it to some. The blued finish, 5 shot unfluted cylinder, rib and IMO desireable caliber "I" would put a hefty premium on it if it were mine on the order of $1k

Those Bisley Hunter models are quite desirable to many. With the rings, the Simmons scope, and the ammo,, I'd place it in the $1200 range. Add about $50 more if you have to box & papers.

After Ruger discontinued the Security six and replaced it with the GP, I had little to no interest in the GP's, but looking into it I see that there was / is a snubby stainless 5 shot in .44 special which now has my interest. Maybe a late holiday self gift is in order? :)

It's a niche gun being a Bisley, a Hunter, and a .41. Add the stainless and it's got all I don't want personally but it is desirable to some and is easily a four digit unit without the glass.
Thanks guys that's good news. Awesome to have people like you guys just want to make sure I get a fair price when I decide to sell and be fair with who the buyer is. I own two long gun Rugers one is a muzzleloader that matches my 280 love them also.

One really shouldn't tag a separate request for value on someone else's request for value.
It makes for confusion.
As far as the Bisley 41, I bought that gun new in the 2000's for $429. I didn't care for the scope on the barrel, messed up the balance.
So I sold it for about the same money as I paid about a year later. I have a hard time believing someone would pay more than $800 for that rig. The scope is worth about $50 on the used market. It is a nice gun, but not $1k nice, IMO

Classic story of I had one and didn't like it so I sold it as cheap as I bought it but GunBroker doesn't agree. SOLD guns are $1175-1336.

Unless it was some sort of holy grail for me, I'd pass. The finish on the barrel is scuffed. At best, 100 below what a new one or comparable one would cost.

You need to find old or scarce Rugers for them to be collectible. They made the original Vaquero seven years. They are not rare but they do trade hands for more than they sold new. I guess collectible has a different definition to all.

Yeah, I’d have to correct you a bit …. But that’s depending on which Rugers you’re talking of for demand. There’s so many …..OM, NM, many double actions, shotguns, rifles, rimfire, center fire and on and on.
I’m curious about your “factory owned model”. Which model and what designates it as factory owned and what provenance is provided.
On your vaqueros… well … they’re new models not old models and single action not double action so that leaves me out.
Some folks got more dollars that sense I guess.....
That, and I kinda wish I'da held on to mine now :confused:

I agree. They're not worth that to me but they are to enough others.
I don't like Bisley's, but love the Hunters. The .41 and .45LC versions were very limited runs; Lipsey's ordered 885 in the .45 plow handles and Davidson's ordered between 540 and ~800 of the .41Mag plow handles, where the .44Mag is still in production.
These are typical prices I have seen across all sorts of auction sites, but deals can still be had....
No ruckus! Depending on how quickly you want to move it, I would say that $1,000 - $1,200 should get it down the road.
