I have only been here a year but enjoy this sight immensely.
I have noticed beside some members names there are titles like mine and Hunter and Blackhawk and such, can someone explain to me the differences?
I know... I'm out of touch. Lol

Newbie! :D :D

For the OP,, many of us have been around a while. And it does have to do with the number of posts. Under my name,, is "ruger guru" as given to me by our own Flatgate when he did the set-up. That little extra was given to some of us who'd been around a while, and tried to help folks as much as possible. It's an honorary thing,, and since Flatgate gave it to me,, I've always considered it a privilege.

Guess I should post more & get rid of Buckeye. I know what that means to a couple models of Rugers, but to a Kentuckian it can be a tricky handle.
We call Ohioans Buckeyes & a Northern Kentuckian, especially with the northern accent will generally be called a Buckeye. But, ya ought to be read to fight or footrace when you say it.

Curious about the name. I actually recently googled buckeye candy and it explained how they look like an actual buckeye nut and about Ohio's nickname.

It didn't however mentioned it being an insult to call a Kentuckian a buckeye. That's funny.

Welcome to the forum @Cal30 1906

Contender, You and a lot of other guys, some who actually posted on this topic here, have been at this for quite a while....About when or what year was the Forum established ?? You know, I have often wondered, but never asked. Thanks !!

I'm not sure exactly when the Forum started. But when I joined,, Flatgate & weaselmeatgravy were already here. It was before Flatgate bought it I believe.
But I was really hooked on the fun, and comical banter between those 2 guys,, especially about the "Rugermobile." ANd,, like wmg,, when a re-vamp was done,, I too lost a bunch of my old posts. But I never cared about that either. Too much good fun, and great people here. THAT'S what is the most important thing. Post count is just a measure of how "chatty" a member is. (And yes,, I'm known for that as well!)

With the old format you could view a page that had the join date of the Members in order. I seem to recall that the oldest join date was around October of 1999. If there was anything before that I havn't seen it.

What ever happened to the Rugermobile ?? I do remember seeing it on the old Catalogs. It was quite a vehicle, and they said Bill Ruger designed it. Did he actually build it too ??

Well, I just went ahead and looked it up myself. Too much to write here, but anyone can look it up. He actually built 2 open top roadsters. He was an avid car enthusiast. He would have built more, but too much government regulations and interference. What else is new. When Mr. Bill Sr. passed, they went too Bill Jr....Folks can look it all up if you are interested. I thought it all was. Especially the part when Mr. Ruger was going to buy Harley Davidson in early 70's when AMF was selling it, but the management present at H-D begged Mr. Ruger to stay out of it as they were organizing to buy it themselves. There was some other stuff there I did not know. Mr. Ruger was an interesting guy for sure. Anyone can check it out.

Bill Ruger's (2) cars,, built & 1969 & 1970. (And that's not the "Rugermobile I was referring to.)

Ruger Tourer 003.jpg

What were you referring to then ? I just typed in Rugermobile.....and these 2 exact cars came up? Maybe I missing something here.

Actually,,, it was a VW van,, (If I recall correctly,) kinda painted like a black & white cow. It was something that Flatgate & weaselmeatgravy were bantering about. I'm not even sure they called it the Rugermobile. That may have came from my faded memory.
All those files & back posts are long gone,, sadly. It was a lot of fun to read.

But those two guys were bantering back & forth about using the Rugermobile to get out & hunt for old Rugers.

The (2) cars I put the pictures of,, are THE cars that Bill built. Yellow one,, 1969, and the red/black one,, 1970.

Yeah, when anybody types in Rugermobile, those 2 cars pop right up. ....Well I guess it was a fun thing with your friends Flatgate and WMG.... I do have to ask this though....How or why did he ever come up with the name: Weasel Meat Gravy ??? I can't be the only guy to wonder that......??
