Like a fool, I sent my Single Six in to Ruger to be "updated." And, if they sent the old parts back, I must have tossed them out with the box they sent it back in.
Is there any one selling the "old" parts so that the pistol might be returned to stock?
Every time I pick it up and jam my finger against the trigger (that won't move backwards till it's cocked) I could kick myself again. It just plain doesn't feel right.

I feel your pain cadguy, I now own an om ss, dates to 1961, .22 only. I purchased a new stainless .22/.22mag a few years ago and although it was a beautiful gun to look at, I could not get used to the trigger. I traded it in for a Markll 3mos. later. I have a Dan Wesson .22 that shoots extremely well and when I'm at the range I find myself reaching for the OM SS rather than the Dan. It has the 4 5/8 barrel and the balance and trigger are just super. I am not an expert shooter, just a plinker, but I would NEVER have this revolver up-dated. Just my 2cents worth. Hope you can get the needed parts for yours

Quick job to find the parts needed, with many thanks. I shot the OM mostly while I was a teenager and never worried about carrying it fully loaded. Of course, when it wasn't in my hand, it was in a holster. And under my gunsmith dad's tutelage, I don't think I've even come close to dropping any kind of firearm, ever, and I'm 74 years old. When I see all the mistreated arms on GB and A/A, I wonder how anyone can do that to a fine piece of machinery. To me, there is no reason for scratches in metal, or dents in stocks.

Saw Rick on Pawn Stars last night, blithely working the cylinder round and round on a nickled 1st Gen SAA and going on and on about how rare it was and what great shape it was in. Not with you running the wheel over the cylinder stop over and over, ol' buddy. Even my wife knows better than that.

Thanks again for a great site.

There's a slight difference in original hammer heigths. If the hammer came from a Single Six (which has the windage only adjustable rear blade) it's slightly taller than the hammers that came on the Super single sixes with adjustable rear sights. Either will work on the single six.

the longer ones have the "point" (top ,tip) ground down to clear the rear sight, when its at its "lowest" adjustment..........the opposite, makes no difference, hard to even notice............

I had mine redone back in 1984. About ten years later, I had my local gunsmith put it back. I never did like the feel of the update. As he was putting it all back like was supposed to be, he sorta' slicked it up all nice and smooth for me. That little ruger is the most fun to shoot of all of my guns, and I've had it the longest. I don't how anyone puts up with the update mod. I've never shot one that was right. But, each to his own.
