I agree, it's hard to see, so I took a couple more pics.
T1 flat breech.
On the T2 the bottom 3/4 of the breech face is lower than the area around the firing pin.
It's easy to see (with my glasses on!!) with guns in hand, but I think I got better pics this time.

No type 1's are known above serial #2000....... BUT, as we all know with Ruger, never say never....

You can really feel it when you run your finger across the face. You can easily tell the difference by touch.

They tend to be really pretty guns due to some metallurgy and bluing issues. It can be very challenging to get the coppering and lightning streaks to show up in all their beauty in a photograph. I only own one Type 1 but it's a really nice one. Yes, Jay, it has your name on it if I ever decide to send it down the river.

This one sold several weeks ago at the auction where I bought the Flattop. Had I not bought the Flattop I might have bought it. It was like new with box and paperwork with nice copper colored frame. It sold for $700, not sure how much of a deal that was, but it sure was a nice gun

Don't make JAYDAWG cry... All of those pretty Rugers he is hoarding will rust! I just got some fresh marbles today and I will send him some to take his mind off not getting that sweet deal on that beautiful revolver. Besides he is spending money on Green Beret 10-22's. I have a can of green spray paint, perhaps I can paint an old 10-22 green and trick him into sending me a bunch of money. I'll work on that idea and see how it works out.
