Well, as I've stated in a couple of threads, I finally ordered an SR1911 from Kittery Trading Post in Maine, and had it shipped to my LGS here in Illinois. Nowhere to be found around here, and they had a weekend sale going at Kittery. $669 + $30 shipping... but I got a $50 gift card (that they let me apply towards the shipping and a mag loader that day).

THE PROBLEM is that this gun is being considered a Christmas gift... and the WIFE has it on lockdown until Christmas day. Can't show people, can't clean it, can't take pictures... nothing.
At least I got to hold it when I inspected it and did all the paperwork.

So... two more weeks to go.... but it still didn't stop me from ordering a nice set of eagle wing grips for it :mrgreen:

I begged, and tried telling her that when I bought her the SR22, that I gave it to her a full TWO MONTHS before her birthday. I was told that was my problem, and if I bugged her anymore, it would be taken and put in her parents safe for the remaining time until Christmas. :x

Sad story- about 3 years ago I bought a 1,000rd case of Aguila to shoot through my P90... but I rarely get to go out and shoot, bet I havn't used 100 of it.

Funny you should mention that.. I'm near Champaign, but my brother in law hunts in/around Galesburg, and he called me while he was at Farm King just to tell me that he was holding one. At that time, I'd already placed my order through Kittery.

Kinda late to this one but nice grab. Funny that with so mnay unable to find the elusive SR1911, I always seen them Kittery. More than once I've checked and they've had a dozen or more in stock. O course it does help when a branch of your store is also a distributor.

Yea, I was kind of amused when someone mentioned Kittery had them. I had been there while visiting family in New Hampshire several years ago... but buying a gun from them all this time later and having it shipped to Illinois just seemed humorous.
