Too cheap

I was in WalMart a few days ago to get (amongst other things) some trash bags
I use in the kitchen. As I moved last year my daughter bought many things for
the kitchen so I would not have to do that as I arrived (love her 8) ) . One of them
is/was trash bags for the kitchen (yawn). I was/am running out of those so I grabbed
the end of the box to get the same ones (work fine, so why not use the same ones?).
That's fine, except that I have been seeing an increasing number of people that
use WalMart people to shop for them (no additional cost, so why not have your
order ready and waiting?). I have been seeing bunches of Wally World "shoppers"
picking item for customers (yawn). Until this week.

The trash bags my daughter bought were/are $14.12 for 56 of them. To me, that's
a tad high, but what the heck. - - - I found them on the shelf, grabbed a box and
was about to leave, when I noticed the SAME PRICE on boxes of the SAME trash
bags, for 80 of them in place of the 56 that my daughter got. Think about paying
about one third MORE (per bag) just to have someone else pick them from the
shelf. :roll:

Guess I too old (and too cheap) to pay an additional 1/3 to have someone else
do my shopping. - - - - - - - Even if it doesn't cost any EXTRA :roll:

I usually try to get the lowest unit price and that may take a bit of looking around. The store makes it easy when they charge the same price for different quantities. Even the math impaired can figure that out.

I suspect that the “shopper” doesn’t pick out produce with the same eye towards quality that I do. Besides, it is fun seeing the other “Walmart shoppers”. You know the ones everyone makes fun of? I would miss my cheap entertainment!

No, you completely missed the point.

Same trash bags, different quantities, same price. If I had called in my order, I
would have gotten the 56 bags, with them picking, as I paid to get 80 of them,
BECAUSE the order would have said 56 bag box.

Those doing the picking DO NOT look for the best deal, they pick the exact match.
While those of us that are cheap look for the lowest price per unit.

AND, Oh By The Way,
Wally World does NOT charge to have them pick the orders. :roll:

That's another consideration, the Wally World picker just grabs how ever many of
which, while you and I look at the item to see if there is a better one on the shelf. 8)
(and we could run another thread on WalMartians . . )

Haven’t you said the same thing about Amazon pricing? To use their terms for searching? Often times they will have the same product at different prices depending upon how you search for it.

They also list the price per each which makes it easy to comparison shop.

We buy trash bags on Amazon, which more often than not has a price within just a few cents of Wal-Mart.

In fact, I just looked. Amazon and Wal-Mart have the same exact price on 110 Glad trash bags ($16.37)

This is online, do you think the price will be different in the store? Asking because I’ve been wanting to try the order on-line at Wal Mart where they bring it out to your car.

I always sit while the wife shops at walmart in one of those loafer chairs and its right in that area with the orange pick up lockers. Always wondered how that worked. I bet they also pick out the almost expired dates on the dairy stuff too. There aint no free lunch.

I should have looked at Amazon. But then again I also found the exact same ones
I bought at WallyWorld for more than I got them for from WW. :roll:

I not sure you understand how online shopping works... You search for the bags, and the cost and count comparison is right there on the screen. Breaks it down per cost of each bag for you as well. There's no cost difference between online, in store, or picking them up yourself vs having the shoppers pick them up for you. Chances are, someone put the wrong box back in the wrong spot.

The Walmart shoppers aren’t picking things for you. They are filling the order YOU picked. It’s not their job to find you the best deal. I don’t think you understand their role. If your daughter had used an order pick up and picked the 56 count, that’s on her because she could have picked the 80 count just as easily online. You can still browse the selections online for price comparison.
I guess I don’t understand the point of your post other than to complain about something new.

Uh...shopping bags?
They only hold about One day's worth of trash if there is no hole.
One kitchen bag per week does the job.
