Going to the raange tomorrow with a whole ammo box of various flavors of the Rimfire, got everything from CB Caps to Stingers and 3 different types of .22 WMR's.
Tomorrow once again I will re-confirm what it is to have all this ammo to run through a truely great little revolver! Another day of seeing what Bill Ruger did right and Cimaron Arms did wrong. In comparison the Cimaron is a potmetal Cap gun.
Gonna be a good day!

Those single sixes are addicting and a barrel of fun also. I keep about 600 rounds in my truck at all times and one of my single sixes is usually what I grab first.

Yea the Single six and a bunch of different RF's can be a ball but while shooting I thought "hey I haven't shot Magnums in a while..."
I popped open a few boxes of WMR and boy it has been a while! I was actually suprised at the Muzzle blast of the Winchester Western's Supre-X! What little powerhouses they are! I cenetered on a 7 yard bull and even with the LR sight setting, the WWMagnums printed a really tight centered group!
I had some Federal WMR Hollowpoints and they just didn't generate the type of power that the WW did.
The 6" bbl and the Winchester Super-X is the combination!
By comparison, the Cimmaron Arms Plinkerton felt and looked like a Cap Pistol! Somehow the investment castings used by Chiappia of Italy just dosent match up to the "Real gun" look of the Ruger Single Six. The Ruger is so finished looking and smooth operating that there is just no comparison between the two revolvers.
My Single Six is no stranger to the WMR load, having shot thousands of rounds of the stuff, nothing shows, no wear, looseness, and it still retains all it's pinpoint accuracy! What a true vaqalue the Ruger is!
A VERY fun day!

I think there should be a National Single Six Day! We should BARRAGE the Ruger CEO, and get Ruger to specify a day, say W. B. Ruger's birthday. They could turn it into a national promotion.....

I don't usually have a single six day at the range. I have .22lr Revolver day at the range. I take my single sixes, bearcat, S&W 63, S&W 18, and Colt New Frontier. If it is revolver day I usually take bolt, lever or pump rifles as well.

I also do .22LR semi auto days. That includes a lot of Ruger toys as well. With semi auto day I take the semi auto rifles as well.

Ahhh, a Single Six and several hundred rds of WMR - a day of bliss.

Taking both my Single Six 5.5" and my new 'old' Colt Peacemaker .22 6" out tomorrow morning with several hundred rds each of magnum and LR ammo.

I've never shot the Super-X magnum before but picked up a bunch of boxes from Wally World this morning. YeHaaa

Looking forward to that smell of burnt powder on the morning air :)
