The pins are "oversized" to fit the part more accurately and they make disassembly/ reassembly much faster / easier!! And . . . they give a clean look with nothing to "bugger" up !!!

I have a M971 in 4 inch with the unfluted cylinder like yours....love it. The Rossi's from back then were good guns. Yours is a very good looking gun for sure....
