Great additions!! One of my favority subjects. Terry, I can honestly say you are the first collector that I know of who is actually putting a set of variations together. A lot of people have accumulated a few drills here and there, but nobody that I know of has attempted a set of variations between models.
Was thinking about doing a drill article in this RENE but I'm pretty sure I'll have enough without it... so the drill article will be in a future issue.
The stick drill shown without the address on the shaft is the earliest production of two along with its 3/8" chuck. There may be very few of those out there without any address at all, which would make it "THE" earliest variation.
The short arm seems to be the most common among the chrome early stick drills although I have seen some with the long arm. Chrome stick drills also predominantly have the spun aluminum knob. The very last variation of stick drill is the all blue version with 1/4" chuck and wooden knob, which all (but one exception) have short arm and a RUGER CORP address only on the shaft near the chuck.

Chad,
The only other drill I have without the RUGER CORP address on the shaft is my Breast Plate Drill, 3/8" chuck & short 3" unmarked crank arm.
JD has referred to the Breast Plate Drills as proto-types for the rest of the stick drills, so your thoughts would be spot on IMO.
Looking forward to your future article (y).

Your breast drill is definitely early since it is without Ruger Corp rollmarks. It is also interesting with the short arm. I think about every one I've heard of besides yours has the long arm. So it also has the aluminum spun knob??
When you have a chance, send me some pics of that one. I'm collecting pics for putting the article in ROCS as well.
