It's snowing and icy today and tomorrow. Perfect weather for watching the NFL playoffs. In the NFC I am Seahawks fan. AFC, go Steelers. Got chili cookin' in the pot with some chips and salsa on hand. Maybe a beer or two. Great weekend to watch some football!

Go 'Hawks/Steelers!
Dave

Yes it is! Cold here in KC. Next Sunday your Steelers will probably play here. I doubt if Miami can win today. I would like to see repeat with Green Bay Kansas City. Jan 15 1967. Tickets were $12.00? $15.00. And not sold out

Well, Seahawks won. Now if the Steelers come through it will be a good weekend!

Alabama could probably give several NFL teams a hard time. No favorite here for me. Might have to root for the underdog Clemson team.

Same here...probably cheer on Clemson while being quite aware that Alabama is probably going to win.

Disappointed that the Raiders had to go into the playoffs with their 3rd string QB, but that is the reality of the NFL. Hard to win in the NFL when your QB has never started a game before. Two weeks ago, they looked like they could challenge for the Super Bowl.
That's why they call it the NFL(Not For long).

Anybody got a recipe for frozen fish? 10 degrees predicted for game time at Heins Field, Pittsburgh.

Actually I give the Dolphins about a 1:5 chance maybe. :D

Dave...

Since we have no NFL team, yesterday came and went without a thought of football. I'm glad your team came thru.

But, speaking of the chili, I surely hope you cracked all those beans to release the pressure before you cooked them.

WAYNO.

Soaked them for a few hours. Saved as much gas as possible. 8) I guess you could call the Seahawks a regional team? But then the Blazers could be a regional team as well, but not by me.... still miss the SuperSonics.

Dave :D

Watched part of the Steelers/Dolphins debacle and left it. I have never seen such terrible officiating. Late hits, unsportsmanlike conduct, obvious holding, and never a flag on Pittsburgh. I don't believe I have actually watched an entire game all season for that very reason; officiating sucks.

Both Seahawks and Steelers advance! So far so good...
Agree.

The only problem was the standard one . . . . babbles.

They get talking heads that babble and babble and babble and YELL!

Oh well.
That's what the mute button is for.

Rogers just gave lessons to Manning on how 'football' is played.
He's unbelievable. Left my Dad's house right before halftime when Packers were down 6-0. He said Rogers was playing terrible and I said I wouldn't count him out in the second half. He started the comeback before I was in my truck.

Yes Rogers played one hell of a game from what I seen, missed most of the first half
but was obvious he was clicking on all cylinders.
Always liked GreenBay that team has a great legacy.
Being from the NE. tho I like the hated Patriots. Bill Belichek is
imo up there with Vince Lombardy as all time great coaches.

Sorry, You have obviously mistaken me for some one that gives a rat's rectal opening about the NFL or "playoffs".

And yet you took the time to post. :?:

Not sure why sports haters care to open an obvious sports thread........just to tell us how much they hate sports.

Probably got picked last for kickball when they were kids.............LOL!!!

And you took time to answer !!

Oh Miss Pamela. It's difficult for us in Oregon to get into football or baseball, other than watching it on TV. But I am envious that you have both very near you. The only professional sports I ever see in person, is when I'm in Kansas City, and I absolutely love it. If I found myself ever again in Tampa, I'd be at every game I could afford.

WAYNO.

Wesley Chapel is basically a suburb of Tampa.......so whatever your inclination as far as sports, it's covered. The Buccaneers and of course Dolphins and Jags are close. USF is in Tampa for the college side. Then you have the Rays in baseball, Lightning in hockey and the Orlando Magic is right down the road. Not to mention the Yankees spring training facility is across the street from Raymond James stadium. Tampa is a great sports town. I lived there part time for 3 years

...and wasn't Tampa host to the Alabama demise? Wish I had watched the ending last night. I would have been so happy to see Saban's team loose. :D

I'm not bitter about his coaching of the Dolphins and the way he left Miami.

Alabamas demise? hardly. They lost a game to a team with the best QB in the nation. Who do you think is more likely to be RIGHT back in this game next year, Alabama or a Clemson team without Deshaun Watson? Clemson ran 99 plays. Even the best defense can't stand that, they were gassed. The Bama offense went 11 straight possessions without a first down. Can't do that to your defense.

If the Dolphins brass had gotten Drew Brees like Saban wanted, he would likely still be in Miami with a Super Bowl trophy or two to show for it. His record wasn't bad as it was. Miami fans are bitter toward Saban because he IS a great coach and they KNOW they missed a great opportunity.

If that was a dig at me Jimbo, because you see I am from Alabama, it didn't work. Yes, I am from Alabama and am a Tide fan. Am I heart broken this morning? No. Why? because I know they will be right back and there are still plenty more titles in their future. Plus, Dabo Swinney is a Tide guy and WOULD be coaching here if not for Saban. Couldn't loose to a better guy in my eyes. Have you seen the preseason odds for next years title? 3-1 for Bama. Next closest is 7-1. I will be fine...........LOL!!!

The Alabama offense was anemic, the defense gassed in the 4th quarter, gave up 400 yards passing and it STILL took a last second TD for them to get beat..........I'm fine..........LOL!!! They will be losing likely 6-8 first round draft picks and there will be plenty more 5 star recruits to take their place. I think we will survive here........LOL!!!

To some here the sky is falling, but that doesn't change the fact that we have won 4 titles in 8 years. Can't win it EVERY year, as much as some fanatics think we should. 50% probably isn't too bad
