An 80 year old man went to the doctor for a check-up and the doctor was amazed at what good shape the guy was in. The doctor asked, "To what do you attribute your good health?"
The old timer said, "I'm a biker and that's why I'm in such good shape. I'm up well before daylight on Sundays and out sliding around corners, "shootin" sand washes and riding up and down the steepest, wildest mountains I can find at the crack of dawn."

The doctor said, "Well, I'm sure that helps, but there's got to be more to it. How old was your dad when he died?" The old biker said, "Who said my dad's dead?"
The doctor said, "You mean you're 80 years old and your dad's still alive? How old is he?"
The old biker said, "He's 99 years old and, in fact, he went riding with me this Sunday, and that's why he's still alive... he's a biker too."

The doctor said, "Well, that's great, but I'm sure there's more to it. How about your dad's dad? How old was he when he died?"
The old biker said, "Who said my grandpa's dead?"
The doctor said, "You mean you're 80 years old and your grandfather's still living! How old is he?"
The old biker replied, "He's 117 years old."

The doctor was getting frustrated at this point and said, "I guess he went riding with you this Sunday too?"
The old timer said, "No... Grandpa couldn't go this week because he got married."
The Doctor said in amazement, "Got married!! Good Lord!!! Why would a 117-year-old guy want to get married?"
The old biker answered,
"Who said he wanted to?"

Oldie but a goodie. :D

Good one. Not a joke, true story. I had a good friend who passed a few years back at the age of 96. Hunted with him and his son, who was my age, since I was just a kid. My friend's family ran to long lives; he had a bachelor brother who was in the hospital for a spell when he was past 90. A nurse, making small talk with him said, "Mr. Kizer, do you have a family?" Mr. Kizer says, "No, but lately I've been thinking about starting one."

My local tire store... not a chain but owned by a customer of mine.. had a sign behind the counter that something like:

senior citizen discounts to anyone over 75 cosigned by a parent....

I go to church with a guy who could have done that...

As someone who started motorcycle riding older than most (I was 42 when I got my first bike, although I had been thinking about it for about 20 years at that point) and still riding at almost 77, I have had a few personal heroes that I hope to emulate. One was an 85 year old rider that I met in the early '90's at a motorcycle rally in southeast Ohio. He had ridden solo from San Diego, on the way to Boston for his granddaughter's wedding, riding a 30 year old bike at the time. And more recently, there was a video that went viral on YouTube showing a 92 year old Italian rider who rides his Haybusa (an almost scary fast sport bike) daily in his full racing leathers.

There are days lately when I wonder if I will still be able to ride at 77, a month from now, let alone 85 or 92. But when I get on my Goldwing and start moving I feel like I will be doing this forever. I truly believe in the saying "You don't stop riding because you got old, you got old because you stopped riding".

Knew of a gentleman who passed in 1972 at age 91, left a wife ( 2nd wife) age 36, and 6 kids; youngest was 3 years old.......

..His first wife passed in the 1940's and his oldest kid was 61....true story.

He never rode a bike but was an accomplished horseman, was still on horseback at age 89.....
