As some of you know Son, Grandson and I started building this CarbonCub EX-2 last June, It received it's airworthiness certificate last week and we ran the engine for the first time last week.
Grandson will probably make the first flight this week.

I can't get used to modern instrument panels. But that's quite the buggy, Jim! Looks a lot different than my brother's J-3! ;) That'll be great fun.

Jim I don't know which is coolest- the project, the plane, or the fact that your grandson looks just like you!

Nice looking plane! “Train up a child in the way they shall go and they won’t depart from it”. Must be you alls family motto? 8) Anyway they do well!

Obviously you're going to fly it, but what type of flying?
Those seem like back country flying motorcycle/camper things.
Are there plenty small out-of-the-way places near you to
explore with it? Going to take small airport hopping vacations?
A big trip into the Great White North?
I know you've got other aircraft, how does this one fit?

I am fascinated and love seeing the planes, one of the things I miss most about FastEd was all the posts he had concerning aircraft, but I am one a bit skittish about going up. Kenneth grew up loving to go flying but his Dad was a pilot and a member of one of the pilot organizations here locally.

Thanks for the update on the project. Many of us have been following it & enjoying all of it. And of course,, having you share such stuff,, of how a family can do things together,, and be successful & all, well, it's just plain GREAT.
The Cub looks super nice,, and I'm sure it will fit nicely into the "family."

I can't add much more to all the excellent comments above!
