My understanding is that GPS doesn’t work undersea.
At least not the civilian version.

I’m just relaying what I read.

Yes there are a lot of natural forces at work too. Including recently discovered metal eating bacteria. The consensus is it will be gone in 30 years.
 
Need to see if anyone onboard has had dealings with the Clinton’s! Mystery solved if they did. Good luck to them but playing dangerous games only works while your luck holds out. I’ve made decisions that I understood that failure at any point would result in death, called calculating risk. If your tolerance for risk is high, accept the results of failure. This world operates off of blaming someone else for the cognitive decisions that were made prior to catastrophic events!

Not that I’m speaking for acorn but I’m assuming he means once it surfaces. Many vessels now a days have EPIRBS which are emergency locator beacons that alert and give real time position of person or vessel for rescue. Brings up the Underwater locator device which would have been helpful Here. A sort of active sonar ping signal that would making finding it much easier.

they’re talking about these sounds the sonar buoys are picking up. I’m not that sure that they’re coming from the sub. One would think that someone down there would have a rudimentary understanding of morse code and I think most know the basic SOS code. That’s what I think they would be tapping out and more easily picked as as man made sound and for distress not someone hammering on an unrelated vessel 10-20 miles away or some unknown sound.

I dunno. Here is a gazillion dollar piece of equipment with no integrated control panel. All controls are done with what looks like a handheld Playstation controller. SERIOUSLY? Anything could have happened, though the banging continues so it hasn't imploded. It could be stuck on something (though I have heard that they lost contact at only 30 feet). They could have hit something. OR someone could have dropped the "gameboy" or the freakiing controller batteries died! How could anyone see that and feel comfortable doing what they planned on doing using toy tech?

Also, these things are supposed to surface automatically if a problem occurs. I'm going with either a control problem ( and I feel pretty strongly about that) or stuck on something. Another dive to the Titanic got stuck on one of it's props. That's IF it even got down that far.
 
Even if it did come to the surface which I doubt, they're still going to be dead pretty soon if not found.

this is clearly Donald Trumps fault. I'm waiting on the Biden/Clinton FBI to confirm this.
 
I see a lot of comments about the video game controller. Modern game controllers are tough as nails, rarely fail, and the batteries are among the best and most reliable rechargables I've seen. I would have a much easier time believing the system regulating the main batteries, or the main batteries themselves failed than that the controller stopped working.
 
Took me by surprise too. So I googled it.

There are several articles saying the same things. The game controllers are in wide use in the military and industry. They are proven to be reliable and a whole generation of soldiers and workers are used to using them.
 
Assuming for a minute it ends badly for those inside, if and when they finally get this thing up they’re going to take it apart piece by piece and from what preliminary reports are talking about they’re going to find lots of shortcuts, cheap parts and bad engineering. Hopefully they’ll be hell to pay for hiring woke morons who take innocent lives in their hands. It makes me think about these rockets taking citizens in space for a couple minutes. Something’s going to go bad there also, at least it seems they’re somewhat more regulated than Captain Nemo wannabe.

I think the sub imploded/ruptured under the intense hydrostatic pressure at depth. We breath 14.7 PSI at sea level. That pressure doubles at 33 feet. For every 33' (one atmosphere) the pressure increases another 14.7 PSI.
At 12,500 feet thats close to 6000PSI ...if they sprang a leak at that pressure their bodies would last a few seconds at best. I don't think they will be found alive and possibly not found at all.

As a kid growing up in the sixties, I can vividly remember my mom first telling me the story of the Titanic. She described how the builders had touted it as "unsinkable" and that everything about the catastrophe was abnormal. It was her belief that God was using this opportunity to show mankind some humility and to curb the boastful nature.

When you add all of the time and tragedy that has followed this story over the past century, maybe she was right.

I watched a video clip of the owner demonstrating the craft. He showed how the controller worked and said that he also carried two extra controllers on board the craft.
 
Debris field would seem to indicate catastrophic failure which as mentioned earlier would be the better case scenario then suffering for days inside a freezing, low O2 tomb.That’s the way I would choose go given no rescue possible.
 
Yeah I kind of agree with you but, the people in that thing did not know that no rescue was possible. I'm sure they were hoping right up till the end. If you were on that thing and there was a self destruct button, how many days would you wait before using it?
