Thad Rybka Holsters

Hello All,

I am purchasing a used Thad Rybka crossdraw holster for my FA 7 1/2" with scope. Sounds like from the little information I have been able to find that he is well thought of. Does anyone have any info they would be willing to share?

I can't offer much up personally about him, other than to say that I've known for a long while that his work is highly regarded. I have two of his single-action holsters. I can attest to the fact that mine are great quality, good-looking leather for working guns.

You were fortunate to have acquired yours at the moment you did. I was poised to pounce on it! :D

Great stuff and beautiful pictures. I apologize for buying the holster out from under you but am Very happy I will own one of Rybka's holsters. I am very lucky I came across the ad when I did. God Bless and Merry Christmas!

I know him and he is a fine guy. My best friend passed away 2 years ago was a friend of Thad as he too was a part time holster maker. I have a couple of his holsters. He is one of the best I thinl. His holsters just look like the grew that way. Once you have a TR holster nothing seems as good.

I know he still does it the old fashioned way, the ordering and the stitching...You write him a letter or try a phone call. John Taffin has written about him and he is the hidestretcher of choice by Gallagher...he seems to work in horsehide more than most and his rough out style is made to work hard and fit like a glove, his stitching is as good as it comes. He's kind of a mystery in leather and probably has no interest in such things as the Internet... Just a guess as I have never met him.

i've had one of his owb open tops for a glock for a few years. it is truly a work of art, and one of my favorites. sorry! i don't have a photo of it. i will try to take one later.
