Target Style Tactical Build??

I posted this on another forum but wanted to get y'alls input as well.

I am trying to decide on my new build which will be featured on my website. I have gone through many different ideas in my head but I can't figure out what I want. One thing I keep coming back to is a tactical style build because there are so many different options when it comes to butt stocks, grips, fore ends, etc.

I looked through a few of the pics and builds here and I have a simple question....how solid is the Nordic body? I assume it free floats the barrel which is good for what I want to build. This gun is mainly going to be a bench rest gun, maybe shot off of a bipod at times.

The simple question is can I build a solid, accurate, consistent gun out of a Nordic style kit?

Simple answer, yes.

My target Nordic is a factory assembled SR-22, with trigger and bolt work by Randy at CPC.

Thanks 9x19 (for your responses in both places). That is a good looking rifle. Does it hold a consistent zero and tight shot groups?

I can't think of any logical reason why not. Pick a good barrel and ensure that the action is solidly and consistently bedded in the stock and you should be good to go. The only variable after that is how solidly the "top end"--i.e., the part that mounts the sights of whatever kind--is mounted (and I'm afraid I have no idea of how that's accomplished with the Nordic getup).

Yes, it is accurate and consistent... just wish I was. :mrgreen:

The top is attached to the scope mounting holes in the receiver (basically it's an oversized scope rail).
