Surprisingly nice pannels on latest JT PPP!

Panels on 4 5/8” gun I got were nothing to write home about, and needed refitting. Just received 5.5” version, and while they will need refitting, they are quite pretty, IMHO. They don’t seem book matched, but match in color and figure character. Got lucky, as most I’ve seen look bland, including my first one.

The serial number of this one is in the low 200s, and my earlier one which was even worse on the grip frame was in the high 200s.. At least I know that Ruger will fix it now. I sent the first one to Ronnie Wells for an aluminum grip frame and some pretty wood.

Doggone good lookin grips.

Otherwise I just can no longer beat the dead horse of the sander polisher excuse, as propper/correct investment cast parts can be so good that they require little to NO finish work . Definitely not required to remove the quantity of excess material that has been observed in this particular situation.

"Painfully obvious" Ruger needs to control their casting process.
