What do you think about the difficulty of getting a suppressor if they are removed from the regulated status. Do you think there will be a rush on them? Price increase?

Great, but they need to have a federal law that preempts any attempts at states having weapons laws. As it is what's legal one place may not be legal others. Same rules for everyone, isn't that what "equal" means.

I think it depends upon just how "removed" suppressors are. If there is a nics check required, it will slow the roll a bit. If all restrictions are removed, I expect to see a variety of "kits" made available for the home builder to DIY. I also expect to see a bunch of new entrants into the man'f circles as well, so prices will come down significantly.

A lot depends on the EXACT wording of the HPA. If it says they are to be considered as accessories only then I don't believe the states can make them a regulated item (hopefully - although you and I know that certain states will try to regulate them no matter what and wait for the lawsuits and the trip to the SCOTUS).

If non regulated with a pre-emption statement against the states, sales will skyrocket at first and the manufacturers will scramble to try to keep up (major mfg's are gearing up as we speak). You will also probably see a whole bunch of sellers of DIY kits (as of now called "solvent filters" for oil, water, chemicals, et al) come into existance as well as possibly new legitimate suppressor mfgs (who actually engineer and test their products for effectiveness).

If the states are given the go ahead by the Feds to do what they want, who knows what will happen, but we all know that it won't be good for firearms owners.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
I think the intent of the bill is that they remain regulated but with a 4473/nics check and no tax.

That is the gist I get as well. Even if so, the DIY option could still be open. In most states you can build your own gun, and not submit to nics, so unless there is some specific wording to the contrary you should be able to build your own can.

Time will tell

Currently, I feel like for what they are, most suppressors are ridiculously overpriced. And, that is mostly due to the fact that they are regulatulated under the NFA.
IF, and I'm certainly not counting on it, the HPA gets passed as part of the BBB, I expect the prices will drop significantly, and availability will also increase. Depending on of course, which State you happen to reside in.
I'm sure that lawmakers in those States already have legislation drawn up, just in case, to make acquiring any suppressors extremely difficult, or nearly impossible.

Totally agree on the overpriced, but then again, most things are at the moment. I don't think it will make any difference especially considering the demand will go up even more if they are not regulated under NFA.

The bill I want passed and signed is the one that stops states from having their own arbitrary laws against thing. You know like "assault weapons", magazine limits, etc. It would also make all of the states constitutional carry regardless of what states or even cities want. Take the power to regulate a constitutional right away from states, cities, districts, possessions, protectorates and territories. If you are an American citizen you are free to exercise your constitutional right to keep and bear arms unencumbered.
