super redhawk question

While I think it is an ugly brute, I know it is hell for stout. My son has one. My question is, since I am going to be loading the 310 gr lee bullet for pigs for him, which is going to handle the rhiino roller loads better, the super redhawk or or a marlin 1894, both in 44 mag.

H lilke big boooms and lottsa recoil. He will learn in a few years.

I think that both will do just fine with that bullet.

You will obviously get more velocity out of the 1894 with the same load, but the SRH with a 310gr bullet will have more "umph" than you need for even the largest of pigs.

If you are not running a gas check on that bullet in the SRH, I would try to keep the velocity at 1100fps or lower. Too much over that and you can start to lead the bore pretty good.
