Such charm!

I took Nita out to lunch yesterday (O.K. So it was a Krystal) and seated nearby were two adult women and two young girls, I'm guessing daughters of one of the women. One girl was pre-teen, the other four, five years old.

I stepped up to the counter for some more napkins when the littlest one said, "Hi, cowboy!" She had those bright blue eyes and angelic face that only a child that young can have. I spoke back, and thanked her for speaking to me.

She asked me about being a cowboy, and I sort of told her I was retired. Later, as we were leaving, I met her and her sister coming from the restroom. The litle girl raised her arms to hug my neck! Her mother nodded it was O.K. and I got a big hug. Kind of melts your heart.

Incidentally, as we ate, I heard her mother explaining what retired meant. She had thought I said I was retarded.
