Stroke has Struck

Baylor Plano is an outstanding facility. I recently had my aortic valve replaced at the Heart Hospital and it was a very positive experience.
Maybe it took me too long to get them in gear and get him transferred from Wilson N Jones to Baylor but they celebrated his arrival on floor 3 when the transfer got him there. It was an unbelievable feeling to see them excited to have the opportunity to serve his needs.

Thank you for your well wishes and prayers. The immediate family has all accepted our roles. The third generation hasn't been exposed in person yet but all four of my kids are going to visit Sunday. My sister's boys will come too I just don't know when.

Have had nothing but respect for you with your posts , not knowing you personally you always struck me as a stand up person. I wish you and yours all the best and my prayers are with you

Prayer for you and family. WE will all be in is position sat sometime. Some of us will know it's coming some will not. Best to be prepare and be assured of heaven through Christ. Take comfort in that.

Hoping for the best for your Dad, and yourself. It sounds like you will likely need to place your Mom in a facility where she can receive care. There are organizations that can help you find an appropriate place, such as "A Place for Mom". The county likely also has senior care Ombudsman who can help you in the selection. You don't have to navigate this difficult situation alone.

God Bless him and your whole family. Keep the faith and stay strong. I am especially thinking of your Mom and what she is going through right now, physically and emotionally for your Dad. Keep a close eye on her....I know you probably already know this, but right now you have a lot going through your mind. Keep us up to date on what's happening. And take care of yourself too.

Spent around 50 hours straight in the ICU with my Dad who has suffered multiple strokes of varying intensity in more than one area of his brain. He has been transferred from WNJ in Sherman to Baylor Scott and White in Plano, TX ... one of the premier vascular units anywhere. The prognosis is fairly dire but we are a faithful family therefore we dually know a miracle can come at the hand of God and Dad is ready to meet Jesus when that time comes. For context, my Dad is the primary caregiver for Mom who is immobile with back issues and on home renal dialysis for stage 4 kidney disease. There is a plan, we are just seeking what it is. My wife and I are taking all four of my kids to see him Sunday. I am the central communications officer of this operation but have coped effectively thus far. Thank you in advance, friends.
My Prayers are headed Your direction for as long as You need them.
TAKE CARE MY FRIEND:

Today all six of us rode together for a day of reflection, decision making, and fellowship. People from decades of life (family, community, school, church , work, his ministry, etc.) came and went from the hospital since we began to realize the graveness of his condition. We got all the needed (for now) stuff done as Dad has lost even more hold on this Earthly life. Tomorrow is the 96 hour time frame where we will start to see the total damage. He is shutting down and his nervous system is now reacting inappropriately to stimuli. Now we entertain planning and finding a venue that will likely need to seat 300-500 people. Dad knows everyone.

Try to get the rest you need. You will need that to get through this. A lot of folks here are praying for you and your family.

I'm so sorry...My wife and I are praying for this entire family!

Going back today for final arrangements.

On another note I got my log-in restored to the forum he was a moderator for so I can tell that group.

I am sorry to hear this, as I am sure that I speak for everyone when I say this. I know how you feel as I have also lost my Dad (and my Mom too) a few years back. I remember it as a surreal type of feeling. Not quite knowing what to feel or to understand at that time. It was tough as you are about to find all this out, But you will get through this. God has a plan, and he will get you and your family through this rough time. We feel for you.
