Is the front sight band with dovetail and the front sight for a stock 10-22 carbine barrel metal or plastic?
Is it a standard dovetail?
Did they ever make any factory barrels with plastic front sight dovetail bands that were then bonded to the barrel?
I looked at a carbine about the same time Ruger started producing the plastic trigger housings and barrel/stock bands that looked like the it had mold marks in it and felt like plastic. I thought maybe they tried making it out of plastic to save money, then went back to metal? The barrel also seemed painted or coated as opposed to blue. Maybe I just saw a poorly made one.
