Hello there!

I have an older Mark II Stainless Target model and it isn't drilled and tapped for a weaver mount.

I see ShopRuger sells the stainless mount for around $24.95 plus I have a 20% coupon for owning a few Rugers.

I was curious if their is an aftermarket mount as their are zero gunsmiths in my area to do so.

I would do it myself but don't have the resources to do so yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the blue version of this mount on a Mark II.... been on there several years and thousands of rounds with no problems.

Thank you for that, it might be better to travel to get it drilled and tapped for the Weaver mount.

This one from Weigand requires no drilling or tapping. Just remove the rear sight and use the same screw holes to fasten the mount. Halfway down the page.

Scope Mount Ruger MkI MkII 22/45 No Gunsmithing
If you have and older Ruger MKI, MKII that's not drilled and tapped you can
install this SCOPEMOUNT without making any permanent alterations to your favorite pistol. Remove the
rear sight, insert the threaded dovetail filler and install the mount with the screws provided. Accepts
all Weaver-style rings and accessories. 5-1/4" long, silver or Black, matte anodoized finish, weighs 2.5
ounces.

RM2SM................Silver..................$39.95

Scope Mount Only

The Weaver mount also goes into the rear sight dovetail... plus, the "clamp" that goes over the forward portion of the receiver has a screw to tighten it and really grab the receiver.

I doubt there's a better "no-drill" mount available.

Yep, that's the one. This mount or the one in WWB's post will do what you want. One is quite a bit cheaper than the other. Your choice.
