SS Ruger Blackhawk Bisley .45 LC, 5.5"

Here are a few pictures of my tiny revolver collection. The Ruger Bisley is new. I am fairly amazed at how easy it is to shoot w/335 gr. HC rounds from Cor Bon and Doubletap. For me, the Bisley grip is a major improvement over the 45 LC/45 ACP Blackhawk I had, shooting the same ammo. This Bisley is a very accurate revolver. The other two revolvers are: NAA Black Widow .22LR. Shoots 60 gr SSS rounds to POA at 7 yards. S&W 625-3 3" 45 ACP/45 Super. Smoothest revolver I've ever tried.

4 rifle cartridges are in the pictures. Identify the caliber (as labeled on their respective boxes) AND the bullet weight. First to post correctly in this thread receives a small gift.

Not really after a gift, just curious. Hoping that somone with a better eye than myself would answer, but it's been 3 days with no replies so here goes.

Right to left:

7.62x54R Russian, 150 gr.

7.62x39 Russian 123 gr.

5.56 Nato or 5.56x45 U.S. 62 gr. SS109

?? .250 Savage ?? original bullet was 87 gr.

I have various once shot factory brass as a prize. I'll box and ship it for free in the CONUS. I have 45 ACP. Also have 223 with mini 14 ding in each case. No sure if this is a issue for reloaders.

Nice Bisley. In my opinion it's one of Ruger's finest models. Wish they'd make it a standard catalog item.

One of the best Ruger has made, also my favorite. Shoots good, packs good, good looking, can't beat that.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

As I mentioned above, this is my second Ruger single action. I have become a real admirer of this firearm format as built by Ruger. These guns look like they are built to last a long time. There are some minor imperfections such as polish eveness, and some tool marks. But overall the design is very versatile.

The blued Blackhawk convertible I had was shot a fair amount. It only got smoother as the round count went up. For me the grip wasn't that comfortable on the Blackhawk. I tried a couple of different grips of different materials. But the problem for me was the grip was too short. The Bisley grip is much better, it feels very secure on the roll back from heavy rounds. I'll note one odd, at the time, occurrence with the blued Blackhawk. This forum cleared up the mystery for me. A crystalline growth occurred at the barrel/frame joint. About the size of a pea. I learned it was salt leaching out of the compound used to blue the gun.

The new Bisley does have one issue. Cases from the Double Tap 335 gr rounds will stick in a couple of the cylinders. Stuck enough to require a dowel rod smacked pretty hard to remove them. I cleaned/lightly lubed the chambers really well. I'll try again. I could use suggestions if the problem continues. Thank you.
