Was looking at a 9E at the LGS this morning, and noticed a pretty good gap between the slide and frame. I could see the recoil spring thru it. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. Polymer frame guns usually have this to allow for heat expansion from rapid fire. Both my SR9 and 9C have a slight gap.

Thanks. Makes sense, just never thought about that before. My LGS has a LEO/Military discount so I can pick one up for $319. I really want to scratch this itch, so I don't know if I can wait till they have their August Ruger sale.

That's not much of a discount. They are $329 @ our local gun shops.

Hope Ruger makes a SR9C-e!

Normal price here for this pistol is $349, so it's a good deal for here. :)

Some online dealer advertised a special on these a couple months ago @ $299.99. Almost ordered one, but was really saving for a New Vaquero (which I got last week).
