Hey guys. I've now put around 200 rounds through my new SR9c and love it, awesome gun. I have a question. There is a small pin in a hole above the mag release on the grip, I assume it holds the mag release assembly in place. I notice that on my gun the pin is pushed in all the way to the left and protrudes by a few thousandths. There is alot of empty hole on the right side of the pin.

The pin seems to be quite secure in there. I can't move it by pushing on it with a punch by hand. Is this how the pin is supposed to be installed in the gun? Do all SR9's have this pin pushed all the way to the left? Other than that my gun has been flawless and the pin is not causing any problems. I keep hearing about loose frame pins in SR's and so this has me a little concerned.

Mine is the same way. I thought about asking this question then never got around to it. After last weekend I've put about 800 rounds through the gun and it has never moved. Mine is flush with the left side but you're right, that seems like allot of of empty hole on the right.

Very interesting guys... I just looked at my SR40c, and that pin is centered. Looking at my SR9c, that pin has actually worked itself to the right and it's sticking out a little bit. I guess I will grab my pin punch and move it back to center and keep and eye on it.

Next question is what can be done to keep that pin from drifting?

Thanks guys.

A small drop of blue locktite on each side of the pin prevents it from moving, this is a known issue after many rounds.

+1 for blue loctite. Just do that when/if you need to drive it out. Otherwise, just tap it flush or fairly centered.

My SR9's pin is flush all the way to the left. I even tried to tap it with a punch to see if I could center it but it didn't budge and I didn't see any sence in beating the crap out of it just to move it in a little!

My SR9c's pin is flush all the way to the left also. I'll keep an eye on it. I'm not sure if it was like that when I bought it or not. If it does work itself out I'll use the advise of using some blue Lock Tight on it. As it is right now though I'm going to leave it alone.

Mine is exactly the same, flush on the left and a bit recessed on the right. If it moves further to the left I'll probably notice it since I'm left handed and operate the mag release with my left trigger finger. So far I've never felt it so maybe it's just made like that.

Reading earlier posts, it seems the pin will work its way out if pressing the mag release rotates the pin. Pressing my mag release the pin remains stationary. Maybe its supposed to be that way and the hole on the left side is a little more snug to secure the pin. I'll just keep an eye on it. Otherwise this gun is awesome!!
