1. As far as I know, Ruger does not sell parts that require fitting for installation. Barrels and slides fall into that category. You have to send a gun to the factory for purchase and fitting.
2. There are several parts in the frame that are different between the SR9c and SR40c (see current owner's manual): cam block, magazine latch, magazine latch pin, and thumb safety assembly.

or allow them all to have a conv kit to 22 to fire all day for cheap!!!
That would be cool too. I have .22 conversion for my 92F. I've been using it once or twice every week for over a year now. I run 250 rounds or more through each outing and I love it! It's a huge money saver!!
Berreta can't keep them in stock.

I've heard of going down in caliber (i.e. .40 S&W to 9 mm) on a given receiver with either a complete top end change or just a barrel and recoil spring but rarely going up.
