SR9 V1.2

My apologies if this has already been posted, but I can't seem to find anything anywhere on this subject.

What is the difference between the SR9 and the SR9 V1.2? Aside from the outside difference with the D-shaped magazine release, is there anything that makes this gun better or worse than the normal SR9?

I just bought my SR9 a few weeks ago and mine has a regular round magazine release. I've fired 100 rounds through mine flawlessly, but I'm curious as to what the advantage of the V1.2 is.

Did they modify it to make it easier/cheaper to produce the SR9 and the SR9c together?

I have a V1.2. There's the D shaped mag release like you mentioned, the take down pin is like an SR9C and there is an internal difference as well. I made a post about it, showing the differences, and I also made a youtube video showing the differences too.

The trigger on mine is pretty decent, so the internal difference seems to effect the quality of the trigger. I fired about 350 rounds Saturday and it ran perfectly.

Pretty much what 89grand said. As for why they did it, probably to bring the SR9 into line with the same internals that the SR9c's using. Keeps production costs down as your only furnishing and stocking one line of parts. Also makes the guns internally identical as of the revision date (unknown).

Will be interesting to see if these newer internals help speed the process to bring newer calibers.

has anyone did a side by side comparison yet of the new and old SR9's to see if the trigger is the same or different? Supposedly the Compact trigger is a bit lighter and if they are now indeed sharing parts, hopefully that mean for a slightly better trigger.
