SR40c slide lube?

Newbie to site and to handguns. I was wondering what people have used on ruger slides(preferably the SR series), and whats good and bad.

I just got my pistol last week, and first time out had a trigger resetting issue. Ruger is fixing as we speak. Anyways... I cleaned it out before sending and applied a light coat of Hoppe's 9 solvent and lubrication oil. As I am sure this will work, I have access to teflon dry lube spray at work. Wondering if I should try it, or should I stick to oil.

I just use the breakfree CLP. I have about 5000 rounds through mine and no problems so far.

I started out using the Brian Enos "Standard"/medium velocity "Slide Glide" for my Sig pistols specifically and have been using it on all of my pistols since then and have had great luck with it.

I use- very sparingly the Rem DriLube in my trigger works, and just a teeny dab of white lithium grease on the slide rails. I put it on with a syringe, that's how tiny it is. I got the white lith. greae at home Depot- tube as big as toothpaste for like $5. The DriLube I got from Midway. Otherwise, a light coat of Mpro7 on the rest of the steel, more for protection than lube.

I like CLP's and I like to find non-toxic versions. I've used Break-Free, Ballistol, and SLIP 2000. All have worked well. Of the three, I prefer SLIP 2000 since I don't have to shake it up like you must do with BreakFree, and it doesn't smell like Ballistol.

Just about anything should work, as long as you use it. I do like trying out new lubes and will probably give WeaponShield, and FrogLube a try as some point.

I've also used Mobil 1, and that lubes just fine too.

I'm also a fan of Brian Enos Slide Glide and use it on the slide-frame interface and any other areas of high pressure friction on all my semi-auto handguns. Also use it on my semi-auto rifles in the areas the military taught me to use grease back in the late 1960s GREAT STUFF AKAIK.
Living here in Central FL I use STD in the winter months and Heavy in the summer such as now where most range days average in the mid 90s
