JUST BOUGHT ONE BUT HAVEN'T SHOT IT YET WANTED TO TRY A DIFFERNT CALIBER. A FRIEND HAS A SR9 I'VE SHOT QUITE A BIT AND I'M ASSUMING IT WILL BE ABOUT THE SAME (IT SHOOTS GREAT) JUST HAVEN'T SEEN MUCH POSTED ON THE 40. ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANKS

I have had my SR40 for about 18 months now. I have put about 1000 rounds downrange, different ammo, weights, brands.... and have had no problems whatsoever. It is a dream to shoot, very smooth. You don't see many postings, because satisfied owners tend not to post.

Good luck.

YMMV,

P.S. Hit the CAP lock.....

Can't talk about the SR40 itself, but I recently purchased a SR40C - great handgun. Shot it last weekend and no problems!

One good piece of advice I used from others on the forum... clean out the striker tunnel BEFORE you take it out to shoot. And clean it real good once you're done. People have had some light strikes and they seem to have been attributed to excessive grease/build up in the striker tunnel.

Let us know how things go once you do take it out.

It is a very nice shooting hand gun.

More people will complain about a certain model than compliment it.

Never had any issues with mine at all. Approx 700 rounds now.

Have had SR40 a year and three months and SR40c about six months, they are both great guns. Both are accurate and so far completely dependable however the 40c with the 9 round mag is easier to CC. Also have a SR9 and if they ever come out with an SR45 i would love to have one to go along with the other SR pistols.

I've owned mine for about 3 months. I love the way it shoots. The only issue I've had was with 2 of my reloads. This is my first attempt at reloading for pistol and I was crimping too heavy. Gave it a light crimp and I've shot about 200 rounds of my reloads since with no issues at all. All factory loads have cycled perfectly, although I've only shot about 100 rounds of factory loads.

I've owned my SR40 for a couple of weeks. I have shot 100 rounds through it without issue. Factory hollow points have a bit more recoil than my reloads but it is manageable.

My reloads have been 155 Gr. Lead Semi-wad-cutter bullets over 5.0 Grains of Universal Clays powder with Winchester Small Pistol Primers for a light load and 5.3 Grains of Universal Clays powder for a load with a bit more speed.

Finally got to the range to see how it shoot's. GREAT is the best way to describe it. Broke it down and cleaned excess grease and oil first (wasn't that bad) Put 150 rounds of blaser range ammo, thats all we are allowed but have no complaint's at all absolutely flawless. The first 5 pulls of the trigger was stiff then smoothed right out' Can see me shooting this for a long time. Thanks for all the feed back. Will let you know at 1000

Glad to hear all went well with your initial firing.

I agree with your comment about shooting the weapon for a long time. I went out yesterday with my 40C and between the wife and myself, we put about 150 rounds down the barrel. The primary Range Master (competition shooter) even shot a few rounds - he was impressed.

The SR40 and SR40C series are winners in my book.
