SR 1911 Commander

Finally got one. Almost 2 years ago, I went to my local gun shop to buy a SR 1911, non to be found, they said 3 - 5 month wait, I ended up walking out with a SR 556 FB instead, (I am not complaining at all). Picked up the pistol last week and I was able to sneak away for a few minutes, only shot 14 rounds, nice trigger pull and accurate at 25 yards. This weekend I will get to shoot more. Nice pistol overall.

After searching gun shops across TN for three months, I finally found a CMD for $719 in Memphis. This pistol has the construction and finish of a much more expensive pistol.

Hey VA Shooter, I found the Commander from a gun shop in West Virginia, Dodds Sporting Goods, paid $750. Not sure if they have any left but its worth a try. Keep searching, there are some deals out there and some honest people too. Good luck.

Shot my Dad's commander this past week, what a great shooting gun. Shot his handloads at about 15 yards off hand. Accurate to say the least. No problems noted. Trigger is crisp.

I don't know that my CMD is accurate by the way I judge my revolvers, benched @ 25 yds. I can say that for some odd reason, the CMD agrees with me and I've done some of my best plinking @ about 40 yds with it as I've ever done. My 1st 2 shots blew 2-32 oz water filled bottles all over the berm. I'm not a great offhand shot, and maybe I was just having a good day, but that rascal was lasered in for me that day :lol:

After the first trip to the range, I was pleased with the results of the CMD. it functioned well and was accurate.

It's great that everyone really likes this model, just wish someone would put some numbers to the word "accurate". Kinda like saying my car is fast. :wink:
