Speed six ID help

Picked this up as-is with no box and no story. Curious what the actual model number it is and if its a Postal gun? sn is 160-97507 As i know little about the speed six any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Howdy.

It's not a Postal gun.

Made in 1985. If it left the factory with wood grips, it's a GS-82. If it left the factory with Pachmayr's, it's a GS-82P.

In Ruger code, "8" means .38 Special, and "2" means 2-3/4" barrel. Although I wouldn't call the .38 model rare, it is encountered much less often than the .357 version.

Reviving an old thread.
Looking for the correct box and paperwork for this gun.
Should it be the yellow or red cardboard box? What size box?
If someone has a photo of an original boxed 160 prefix speed six that would be awesome!
