Recently picked up a pair of new/old stock Butler Creek boot grips for my new SP101 (manufactured 2/11). Love the shape and feel of the grips, but the fit is terrible! There's a gap between the top of the left grip panel and the cut out in the frame (grip area). Is this the normal fit of these grips, or are the grips defective? Possible design change in the frame cut in the newer guns?

There was a post some time ago about 'boot grips' (I think) that did not come up high enough to cover the curved portion of the frame on an SP. I believe the poster was our own knuckles. You might shoot him a PM and see what he says. 8) 8)

Thanks for the link Jimbo.
I'm starting to think Ruger may have used new tooling to cut the frames in the more recent guns (sometime after Butler Creek discontinued the boot grips).
Anyone else have a newer SP with the Butler Creek boot grips? How do they fit?
Before I try to exchange the grips, I want to make sure (to a degree anyway), that the new grips may actually fit.
